The Nissan 370Z has been wowing audiences and motorists alike ever since its introduction at the 2008 Greater LA Auto Show. 2014 sees a new edition of this legendary sports coupé, featuring a sensational new look, enhanced technology – and of course, the same electrifying performance which brought it to the dance in the first place.
There is one word which sums up the new-look 370Z succinctly: futuristic. Nissan has clearly gone all-out with the 2014 edition, which boasts rounded aerodynamics and a bullet-like silhouette. Colour options comprise a number of classy finishes, including Ebisu Black, Midnight Blue and Universal Silver.
It's a similar story on the inside, with luxury upholstery and a meticulously-designed cabin which just feels right. Everything, from the steering column to the kneepads on the sides of the console, has been implemented with driver and passenger comfort in mind. The result is a ride which is comfortable as it is exhilarating. Paddle shifts on the steering wheel, meanwhile, offer that authentic racing experience which is all too rare.
The most important part of the 370Z, however, has always undeniably been its engine. 2014 sees numerous tweaks and improvements, enhancing power and handling throughout the vehicle. The fourth generation, 3.7-litre V6 engine is as powerful as ever, outputting up to 324bhp. Variable Valve Event and Lift (VVEL) and Synchro Rev Match technologies, meanwhile, ensure optimum efficiency and greater responsiveness.
Safety and Technology
With airbags, active headrests and front seat belt pre-tensioners, the 370Z offers a generous amount of safety features. That's not all, however: Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) and brake assist work behind the scenes to minimise braking distance and decrease the likelihood of a collision.
